page on this subject, on this page I give you an option for a **Ancestry Lookup** I have the 1841,1871,1891census'
of Durham, also the Pigots 1834 Commercial Directory of Durham and Northumberland...A list of the main surnames from
the 1871 census of Shildon is also on the page....If you have a name and an area or place and the year you want researching even
out of the Shildon area.... I will endeavour to find you the information that is available. For my time I will charge
just a minimal fee and either send it to you by e-mail or send the info by post or both.
If you do find anything that could help me after looking through my ancestry of the Thompson,Hope,Coulson,Allison,Crosson,Snaith
and Williams family trees, dates, names, places which rings a bell or you think are incorrect, why dont you drop me

My name is Lynn Thompson and I've reached my fifties,I work as a carer.
I enjoy holidays,tennis,(that's watching) TV, gardening....er...somewhat!, Although I'm dreadfully
old I still own a mother, two sisters and two brothers, also a hoard of nephews and neices.
I am also an Ebay fan and do a lot of buying and selling,as a hobby.
My latest venture is to learn HTML to make a website as I want it, I have signed up for a course.....but
will it sink in at my age!!!

Museum Nominated for European Title'Museum of the Year Award.

Four New Engines Arrive At Locomotion
The museum has taken delivery of four new vehicles, which are now proudly on display.
The new exhibits are the 1601 Matthew Murray 0-6-0 Saddle Tank Locomotive built in 1903, the
North Staffordshire Locomotive No 2. 0-6-2 Side Tank Locomotive, built in 1922,the 3183 King Feisal of Iraq 0-6-0 Saddle Tank
Locomotive built in 1944 and the 2700-nicknamed "Crab" a 2-6-0 Tender Engine built in 1926.
All four locomotives will remain on display for some considerable time with the Matthew Murray
expected to be the first to leave some time in November.
All new Locomotives can be viewed in the exhibition hall at the new £11 million museum which
is now open daily from 10-00am until 5-00pm seven days a week.Admission is free!
The museum is split over a number of buildings including the former Timothy Hackworth museum,the
Soho engine sheds, the old goods yard and the former Sunday school building.
A special coach takes visitors from the Soho Street welcome building down to the new state of
the art exhibition building beyone Dale road bridge.
